Any donation apart from Zakat is known as Sadaqah. The meaning of Sadaqah is charity. Irrespective of the donation amount, if the money donated is for any good cause, it is known as Sadaqah.

What is Sadaqah Jariah?

Continuous charity is known as Sadaqah Jariah. Sadaqah Jariah includes any donation which continues to bring benefit to animals, environment or people over a continuous period of time. Some examples of this variant of charity are orphan care, education, tree plantation and safe water.
