About Qurbani Foundation?

Established in 1999, Qurbani Foundation is an international relief and development Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), which aims to alleviate the suffering of the world’s poorest people affected by natural disasters, conflict and poverty.

Qurbani Foundation’s trustees, who are all volunteers, form the governing body of Qurbani Foundation and are legally responsible for all of the organisation’s activities.

History

Qurbani Foundation was founded upon the Islamic principle illustrated in the Gracious Quran:

“They feed with food–despite their own desire for it– the indigent, and the orphan and the captive (saying): ‘We feed you purely for the sake of God. We desire no reward from you, nor thankfulness.’” Surah al-Insan 8-9

Qurbani Foundation was established during a time when humanitarian organizations faced increased scrutiny in their activities and procedures, leading to new standards in transparency and accountability. As a Muslim-run  organization that serves needy communities both at home (145 Sherwood Ave Teaneck, NJ 07666, USA) and abroad, Qurbani Foundation shows the inclusive beauty of Islam through programs that reach the destitute worldwide.
